Teaching Philosophy

My research on the college-to-career transition and my time as an instructor suggest that students often need opportunities that link course content to “real world” examples to best grasp – and appreciate – course material. I build all my courses in a way that connects theory and praxis. Leveraging my background in student affairs and non-profit leadership, my goal is for students to critically reflect in an inclusive learning environment while engaging with the community.

Teaching Experience

I have taught in Sociology and Women and Gender Studies departments at several universities, including at Grand Valley State University, University of Maryland, and George Washington University.
